A Poem by Alexandra
"

This is for Michael.

"
I remember you so clearly
You were sitting diagonal from my chair three years ago
Our class was named 19th Century Theater
Always at a distance and always so cold
Keen and apathetic
So lingual
Your tongue rolled off all sorts of wisdom
I couldn't stand it

I can't stand you now
You look at me with all the wrong answers
I can love you as you are now
You tell me to stop crying over some f**k that doesn't deserve these tears
So why should I take off my clothes and envelop myself in you?
You hate everyone of my kind, but you make an exception
"I've been wanting to talk to you for a while, you never answered"
That sounds like me

You're so involved in me and what I do
Who else would sit and talk to me about English
We share libraries
Music
Kisses
Sheets
Bodies
Interweave
You speak Polish
I speak Spanish

We're two different people
But, there's one thing for sure:
There's no one like you
