Sharkeys, You Can Kill Me Now

Sharkeys, You Can Kill Me Now

A Poem by Alexandra

I heard about a gentle man
That stole a man’s guitar for his own benefit
I saw love’s deceit in front of my own eyes
A lover brings their ex-lover
So the other lover pulls their ex-lover to the bar stool

I’ve always been fine sitting with Dan
Telling him all the ins & outs of my soul
How times have changed
He can’t believe I’m laughing at all that happened
Little does he know that after my second beer
I had to take a minute in my car to recuperate
Anti-psychotics are where I am now
I can’t help, but hear you
“See? You’ve always been so crazy”

It was the first time in a while I’ve heard your voice
I can’t come back to Sharkey’s anymore.
“Diego was just here yesterday”
No one needed to tell me that.
I already felt it.
