Pound Cake

Pound Cake

A Poem by Alexandra

You bite
I bite twice as harder
Me and you on your sofa
Are everything lovers need in a short time interval
Clothes strewn
Grunt work
Make it worth the deception
How good it feels to hear you
Feel you
Want this
You don’t need words
I felt it all at once
Your loving energy on North Avenue

If I could have written like this when I was twenty one, I would either be a rich poet now, or a dead one.. respect and All Good Things, Neville

The brief, spare language really evoke the hot and heavy. The line "Make it worth the deception" reveals the deeper truth. Very insightful work.
