Hickey

Hickey

A Poem by Alexandra

Pitysex- Dogwalk on the radio
I immerse too much
I get consumed
Too easily in men like you
I can write endlessly on how you make me feel
But, this is real.
The man I was always told to avoid.
Is finally mine.
At least, for the night.

"I'll be more careful next time"
There's a next time.
When?
How?
Where?
You still want to see these eyes.
Feel my vessel.
How could you when I carry so much weight on these shoulders.

Redact that.
You liberate me from these ghosts.
I don't carry this weight like I used to.
So, let's grab another beer
Drink to drunk girls with no pathway
Take a shot for these fucked up men
And kiss for the first of many dates to be with you
