Resilience

Resilience

A Poem by Alexandra

Last Christmas
You decided to take your s**t
And leave for your best friend’s house

With open doors to my house
My family waited in strong patience
You never walked through the door

This Christmas
My hands are shaking for the right reason
To feel Fernando’s hands on mine

With open doors to my house
I don’t have to wait with any kind of patience
He was already at the door

Merry Christmas to me.
