Polaroid Picture

A Poem by Alexandra

I finally understand what this all means
I’ve been stuck all my life
Loving the same kind of man
Laying in my reckless insecurity

Loving you was the best decision I made
You are my metamorphosis
The change I need
The brightness in this dark pigmented painting

Fernando, I couldn’t have asked for anything more
Let’s take pictures in my mirror
Make believe we’re wrestlers in my room
Play Brazilian jazz
Dance to the most unlikeliest songs
Make love at 3:30 AM
While the portable heater buzzes in the night

Make me love myself
Don’t leave me astray
Don’t let me go too far
Bring me back to the reality
Of being me
Of being with you
Two individuals
So in love in the month of December
