“I Can’t Believe You’re My Girlfriend”

“I Can’t Believe You’re My Girlfriend”

A Poem by Alexandra

“You’re so f*****g beautiful”

I texted you because I was dwindling
You asked where I was
And I told you I was dying at the local theater
Yorgos made me feel better
But, honey...
Nothing makes me feel better like you

Anthony grabbed me coffee
Jordan messaged me new music
But, you, my love came straight home
To find me alone
And ready for your warm embrace

These sheets are not useful
When both of our naked bodies are enough
To warm our vessels
You look me in the eyes
As we make love
And I don’t want anything else
If you keep peering into my soul

Do you see my last lover’s residue?
How about my manipulative ways?
Do they bounce around in the walls of my iris
Reflected pupil
Detect my fucked up soul
And f**k me the way you know how

I love you
I love the way you move me
I want to stay in this moment
When we just look at each other’s eyes
No words
No moving mouths
Just eyes
Peering into each other’s souls
In our microcosm
Of love
