Our Garden

Our Garden

A Poem by Alexandra

I can be so mad
So terrified of what I’ve become
Rooting myself further into the dirt
Yet, you’re home on a summer morning
The very light rays shining on this sunflower
Are all I need to sustain life

Encompass your warmth
Give this cold body
A chance
I’ll be the sweet nectarine
For the bees to feed on

Produce life
Throughout the spring
With you by my side
To hibernate together through the winter
Until summer ray’s bring us home again
