Alone

Alone

A Poem by Alexandra

I can be your good girl
Face down
Naked
Waiting for you to feed me all the needs I’ve dreamed of

Being alone
Is preferable
Than your fake intrigue

I’d rather die a thousand times
Than fall in love
With you

I can be a good girl
Lying in bed
Reading Faulkner
Feeding myself all the intellectual fuel
I’ve ever dreamed

Simply,
Anything would be better
Than ending up with you
