Heavy To The Touch

Heavy To The Touch

A Poem by Alexandra

Dads play
Reminiscing of a winter
Where I climbed a fence
And you told me to jump down with courage

I’ll do it again
Only if Stella yells for my name
And it’s going to be okay
As long as she’s by my side
To make these lonely nights a little more bearable

I want to wish you the best
I want to tell you so many things
I just wish you were the same person
But, you’ll never be
“Things are just never going to be so easy”
At least...anymore.
