Inebriated

Inebriated

A Poem by Alexandra

I think it’s the way the light from my car hits your eyes
It’s full of deep regret
Could we rewind it back?
Not when I fucked up
But, afterwards when I left you alone with our record player
I took the night to conjure up an excuse
I think I just ended up at his place again

I think it’s the way you hold my hand
It doesn’t feel right
“I Love You”
I did, too.
Could we rewind it back?
Not when I picked up your phone
But, afterwards when I saw her name on recent contacts
So what contact did you need to make?
It took the entire night to find you a reason
I think I just ended up in my head again...
