Last Thing I’m Writing About You

Last Thing I’m Writing About You

A Poem by Alexandra

I won’t forget the way you entered my car
Large eyes implanted in my brain
You lost me in the club lights
I grabbed your hand bringing you out of the wave of people
We got so drunk
And I wanted to tell you more about those nude pictures I knew about
But, you went on about hypotheticals and music
I took a chance

Four months later
You’re looking at me like you’ve never loved like this before
So haven’t I
But, you’re the one cutting the images from my mind
Dissecting the very memories I held dear
I didn’t know I loved you until I saw you at the bar drinking alone
I wanted to grab you from the wave of people and bring you home

Our playlist will stay intact
Our memories will be held here
But, I cant promise I’ll stay with them
I love you
But, just as you ran away
I’m going to too
