Dirge for Earth

Dirge for Earth

A Poem by audacicity

In the cosmos, a fragile blue sphere does whirl,
Our homely planet, Earth, a precious pearl.
A dirge for her, let our lament unfurl,
As dangers loom, her fate, we must unfurl.

For all of humankind, a common birthright,
But perilous paths we choose, day and night.
A requiem for Earth, in sorrow, we write,
Her future uncertain, in the cosmic light.

Aggression and compassion in our souls reside,
In the balance, our destiny will decide.
A solemn lament, our voices open wide,
As Earth's fragility, we can no longer hide.

In the dark expanse of space, we find our berth,
A dirge for Earth, for all she's truly worth.
In unity, we must protect her from the dearth,
For our home in the cosmos, her place of birth.
