Ice Cream
A Poem by John Jackson (El Juero)
The house is quiet...
I finished work early today.
No reply as I hollered "I'm home".
It's 1:00 PM under a sunny sky.
Gonna pull out a deck chair and chill awhile.
Listen to the buzzing of insect and motor,
and have myself some Ice Cream.

My Dear Writing Friend,
I have not heard a poem about ice cream ever, what a novel approach to an addiction us Alaskans have as we eat per capita more ice cream than the lower forty-nine. Your poem placed me there with you in a deck chair, listing to the drone of bugs and traffic, slowly under a perfect Alaskan sky enjoying my favorite flavor, vanilla. A excellent fun poem.
Blessings, Laughing-Bear
