Our Bodies Like DriftwoodA Poem by LA WaningGoddess cups our ocean
Adrift the palm of her hand She scoffs at us in time She pours us over the edge But she's not answering me As I descend in kind The echoes of our cries Dashed upon a Stygian shore Our bodies snap like driftwood In the shallows we drown Before I could know her mind She's gone silent to me Though I yearn to be let in A switch to lash my soul So she may taste my sin Mixed with these bloody waters And it will be all gone These troubles that I'm in This dying of the cries © 2014 LA Waning |
