PresleyBluesA Poem by Azsa WildListening to Elvis.
I'm laying here ... listening to the king
Soothes me like the whiskey (I miss) Somebody is out there waiting For my voice Telling me I have a choice To get up and out again I've got the Presley blues I still need a pair Of blue suede shoes I'm terrified of the talent I possess Battling as if I never had it There is a path to choose So I'll feed the hound dog And find peace in the valley Looking back Memories Who knows what I have to gain On aboard that mystery train Looking back All shook up Who knows if I'll ever move this pelvis the same Or buy a gun just to shoot the tv over and over Looking ahead Way Down I am prepared They tell me I can't tell me I won't I'll just smile and say Don't Looking ahead Que Sera Sera There's still a crown waiting for me If I'm just a Prince I can still stand by the king © 2019 Azsa Wild |
