Elizabeth came into my life for awhile
Brought me a laugh and a smile
Gave me meaning to my life and heart
Said that she would never part
She is no longer here today
She left without a word to say
Elizabeth brought me comfort with words
Like gentle songs from singing birds
Always sweet and never sour
We could love a love for hour upon hour
She is no longer here today

Elizabeth was the one I thought would be always
Made my nights joyful and the same for my days
She had a kindness born from sacrifice
Turned away for a second she was gone in a trice
