Sea of SnakesA Story by Babieegirlbased on the episode of Mushishi called "where sea meets man" and the picture is a scene from the episode. The sea was pale blue. Looking straight at it you only see more of the ocean.
It was the man again, sitting on the rock. Waiting again for his lost wife, for she was lost with the serpents in the sea. 10 years a wait, and he still sits on the rock. There he rowed his boat off to the shore, in search of his wife, with his beloved friend, one who knows more of the serpents than anyone. Then there the serpents came and took place of the water. A sea of snakes. They weren't scared, yet kept moving along with the snakes. There they saw a boat. In between the fog you cannot see through, only back to the island. "There it is. The boat my wife was in." He said aghast. They rowed next to it, finding her asleep and there he awoke her She jumped into his arms and there he cried tears of joy "where have you been?!" She cried "It has felt like DAYS that I've last seen you, maybe years!!" They looked at her stunned, though the man thought nothing of it. The friend looked back to the island. "Dear friend, let go of her and look at me" He said, with his cigarette hanging from his mouth, he did obediently. "Tell me, which way is back to the island? Can you still see it?" The man nodded. A lie, it was. The man pointed forward. out to the fog where nothing can be seen. "Dearest friend, i have told you, if you lose your way and truly do not wish to return home, you cannot be able to see through the fog back home" That's the work of the serpents. That's what they had planned. To take another with them. "Let her go and leave her here." He commanded. Waiting for what he would do. Then when he made his decision, realizing it cannot be her for she should be dead, ten years in the see, impossible. This lady, on the cloak was no lady at all she was after all a large serpent, taking the shape of his wife to take another in her fog. and then that was it. He had passed through the fog and desirably found his way back to the island. He then could see buy wanting to go back home. Where he stayed working on the island.. forever, alone. © 2011 BabieegirlAuthor's Note
