Come Lay With Me In A Hayloft Of Hay

The smell of hay in the loft can often be a place to find comfort and peace.

Come lay with me in a hayloft of hay,
let's talk, and make love throughout the day.
We'll block out the world, forget about tomorrow;
not answer the phone or drive through hollows.
We'll shut out the sun, make eyes at the moon, 
kiss away our blues and sleep until noon.

We'll become servants to one another,
counting sheep as we love each other.
Use our love ensuring it'll last forever,
soak up our dreams while we're together.
We'll sail away with the dreams we own,
hold each other until it's time to go home.

Live this day as if it would be our last,
whisper secrets and plans of years to pass.
Confess our love in spoken words we know,
cross bridges and watch our children grow.
A love so real it'll never escape our grasp,
knowing we share the things now as in the past.

Come lay with me in a hayloft of hay,
romp through fields of buttercups in play.
We'll hold hands skipping in lush fields,
trying to catch butterflies testing our skills.
Come lay with me in a hayloft of hay,
we'll forget our troubles and enjoy our day.

How beautiful the promise of love within two which are happy just to be together. I found your words bountiful with peace and comfort just in being together. Not everyone can find the country setting so realistically painted but it sure was nice to go there in your poem.
