The InvocationA Poem by PoetryofProvidence
On these days I thought I was so tired
I wanted to lay my burden down I looked up and knew more would be required but seeking sheep that would be found To follow you upon your path my master who purchased me I know not how but seeking lasts who promised God that I would see To learn to Love was the promise the hordes of people lost and famished and avenue we would surmise that they be no longer vanquished May I never stop to listen I am very very small or your voice skip to missing almost too little to hear your call In your law I take delight to my children I lay it down my light shines within the night till we all should see the dawn You have required only one thing each and every man and woman family and in duty bring it into being that we all have only one asendency All I possess has been given you no friend of mine will be the lier and my life sacrificed to truth may all lies burn upon your pyre You've made my life a torture stake I have this arguement with you I understand my life you will remake though I know the end is true I know my end to be the ground partake the table of his wife and the Love that I have found and the battle for my life As a gift you gave my life and oath I'm bound to honor to the one who's seeking wife to whom my life will prove fonder My argument is stronger still What see you that I do naught as response seems so very nil or response that little sought I have not eyes to see the heavens and my understanding is very small I submit to earthly givens and my hope is in your call. © 2010 PoetryofProvidence |
