With a gentle sweetness

My roses are starting to bloom, so I thought I would put my thinking cap on and dedicate a small poem to them.

With her skin as pure as silk
Hands so soft and gentle
Her complexion so pure

There's a sweetness about her
So untouched by human hands
Petals cradling her soft body
As she unfolds her glowing heart

A perfume lingers about
Setting the world aglow
With sweetness

A rose
A gift of nature
Sets the world aglow
With a gentle sweetness

I agree. I never tire of roses. And their perfume is always perfect. When I was picturing the scenes in my tragic short story recently, at the end on the wedding day, roses were the flowers I pictured. One of the main characters is compared to and named for a rose.

Music and scent seem to be frameworks of our memories. We all have a personal soundtrack and scent can trigger memories quite visceral or incredibly touching.
