True Terror

True Terror

A Poem by bball_41
"

Witnessing something terrifying

"

Numb.

Horror filled.

That's how I felt

On that brisk March day.

.

Scared.

So confused.

I asked the question,

"What am I supposed to do?"

.

Stunned.

Standing totally still.

I didn't move a single muscle.

I just faded into the background of motion.

.

Helpless.

I was defenseless.

All I could do was watch in tears.

I wasn't alone, but I felt a huge void inside me.

.

Change.

Life was different.

I never was relaxed again.

I was constantly reliving that moment.

.

Terror.

True terror.

That is what I felt.

That is what I still perceive.
