lame piece of poetry

i traveled
hundreds of miles
yards
feet
even inches
hoping to undo this
distance

i hoped to gain a closeness
by way of being away
from a tightly woven web of
incorrect direction
and i hoped to gain a longing
by being gone long
just enough to spark a feeling
but when the key turned
there were no hugs
no hellobabyimissedyousomuchicouldntsleepwithoutyou
kind of thing happening
only
just
me
at the pc
typing this
