Another Rising Sun

Without the strength to live

Without the courage to die

I move about the world

Like a chameleon

I blend in

And like an echo

I reflect back

What they want to hear

What the need to see

These Others truly vex me

As they plead such care

Until one’s back is turned

Then, out of sight,

Out of mind

They forget you

Care at their convenience

Love professed in the moment

Forgotten by daybreak

Thrown into the fire

Of another rising sun
