My Moss Green Colored Jade

My Moss Green Colored Jade

A Poem by Bear Y'hoshua H.
"

Though having promised to never abandon me (as she knew my abandonment issues), my best friend allowed her boyfriend to make her cease contact. I miss her daily, as she shares part of my soul

"

We were the silence between the notes

Like an endless trip to nowhere

Meaning everything but nothing

All at once

Always a part of my heart

You shared a piece of my soul

Yet in the eternity of a split second

You were gone

We live life by looking forward

Only understanding it looking back

Forever facing two possibilities

But which is reality?

Your promises became water

Fluid, rippled, evaporated, gone

Only coming back to rain down

In the form of excess tears

I now exist in a lost corner of the world

Where even the wind forgets to go

Trying to recreate something

That was only in my mind

We were supposed to be separated

Only by the grave

However, lives are lived and life and death

Is merely separated by a thread

You severed that strand, abandoning me

Leaving me the lesser half

Your iron fist no longer hiding

In a velvet glove

I pray soon I will be left

With scant memory in my confusion

To have known a thousand things

Yet not remember one

With my moss green colored Jade

Naught but a fading recollection

A fire burning in my soul

That will comfort for a lifetime

The chronicles of our existence

Do not always end as we envision

We live out our days

Leaving some stories incomplete
