A Poem by Beren

You are like a column in a narrow space
where touching is forbidden
They say you protect me
but I can't get out of here already
You block my way, you don't let me go
You don't let me paint or hang posters
And the air here is no longer enough for both of us
As I breathe in the air I exhaled,
I return to my past that I wanted to escape
I can't find the strength to destroy you
I'm stuck here
And maybe this destruction is my only salvation

I hope not!! seems like you are being stifled by this person... with no air to breathe...and seems he will not leave...you definitely show your emotions here...of suffocation and frustration....i like the way you used your words to get the point across... Thanks for sharing!

Definitely agree, sometimes you have to break the foundations of something to build something new and moving forwards in a different way.

Loved it!

Aww thank you! Appreciated!
nothing in this world can confine our mind and heart, except if we let it to be confined. The expressions here are so vivid and striking, it kept me thinking what must have triggered this write, it has pain, suffocation, frustration and hope to escape, waiting for strength to arrive. I must say, words have power and can certainly escape this confined space, the words already got here, inked in fire, lending strength to melt the chains. thanks for sharing, B.

This could be something Sylvia Plath would write. It could be about trying to escape the part of us we do not like, the part that makes us feel guilty...we get suffocated by it, feel imprisoned by the thoughts that keep occurring and won't let us live in peace.
Sometimes destruction is a kind of creativity.
Sometimes.
