sun-kissed the moon

sun-kissed the moon

A Poem by Beren

I whisper a few songs
Knowing you will hear
Because every stardust here
will carry my sound waves to your ears

I write a few poems
Knowing you will feel
Because every word I wrote
Will be yours to steal

That's the problem with non-believers
They always look for a power to hold
A card, the universe, or a few horoscope
But I'm cheating the moment anymore

I've forgotten the disadvantages of heaven
I have no expectations here
I have no hope
Because everything is the best it can be
Or I forgot to have dreams

If I could change one thing
I would change the moment I was born
To be closer to you on my chart
And I would like to be the flower of your moon

But I am the sun,
and you say you gather my shine
And you want me to pray under your light
To manifest you

I am aware that the sun is one of the stars
but cannot show the endless explosions inside
the moon is lit by her scars
and there are only few mornings they appear together in the sky

Just because the novices on land cannot see them at all times
does not mean they are not together
Even if the Earth comes between them during a lunar eclipse
They always orbit their worlds for each other.

You are a very romantic writer, Beren! And this is a most beautiful exploration of love and soul connection. The idea that stardust can carry sound waves is a very poetic and imaginative way to describe love. There’s a sense of vulnerability and openness throughout, and an acceptance that there are things in love that we cannot control or change. This is admirably expressed in the non-believer’s tendency to look for signs in the universe or horoscope, and then this moves to the imagery of the sun and moon to set up a very satisfying closing line, “Even if the Earth comes between them during a lunar eclipse / They always orbit their worlds for each other.”

what a lovely poem! This is beautiful piece of writing. where were you hiding these words and lines? The opening two stanzas set the tone for a romantic, soulful poem. But the last two stanzas, great expressions! Can't say more, how much I loved reading this one. Thanks for writing and sharing this wonderful piece, B.

I'm glad to hear you, and read you. Always! I'm doing good, hope you're too. take care!
The words you use are absolutely beautiful and it all flows brilliantly. The imagery and feelings within this are so lovely. Your experience and passion really shines through, especially with this line-

'the moon is lit by her scars' - it had my heart BEATING! It was such a pretty and powerful way to personify the moon.

Keep on writing!

A lovely poem of fit and need that reflects the union of the forces of nature and love. Beautiful in its images and metaphor. I loved it
