heart's language

heart's language

A Poem by Beren

Even if I didn't know any language in this world
I would swallow the ashes of burned libraries to know you

My heart sings songs in languages you won't understand
yet each note carries a drop of blood from my heart to yours
So you can trust me to play the right chord

I'm waiting for you even on the streets you've never seen
I have orders that I think you'll like in the cafes you've never sat in
There are our kisses in movies you've never heard of.
So you can trust me moving your heart

Sometimes I take refuge in the shadows and ask for forgiveness
it is important for my sins to be erased
So that I can come to you with all purity
If I remain silent, it is because of some of my old vows I forgot to keep.

My heart feels so light after you
I get used to comfort and forget to be grateful
So i sometimes take time to remember the roads we crossed
We built everything to reach the pure love that is now

For now, my goal is to protect this peace
and kiss your heart, clean all the wounds.
So I can trust myself to hold you, like you deserve.

This is powerfully romantic, and exemplifies all the emotions one may experience when playing the game of love. It's not for the faint-hearted, but even the most timid among us are obliged (compelled?) to enter the fray. Not all are well equipped for the challenge, like my 33 year old son who has never found lasting love but still tries.

There is something so gentle in the way you've worded your anticipations and desires. They border on the edge of hungry, but never crossing a line, which makes it this beautifully emotional, romantic piece. I think anyone who has ever tasted love knows this exact feeling -- you start to create art with your person that they may never see, but the stain remains. Beautifully written and exceptionally executed.

Gee
That's how you write romantic, some great lines.
I'm fortunate that my wife of 32 years has let me share her life and has gifted me a wonderful daughter and taught me to love myself thus allowing me to become a better human being, father, husband and friend
Hope you are well

I had to stop and reread and redigest the fabulous first two lines.
This poem is intensely romantic in an old film kind of way.
Oh to be one of the actors in this film.
Beautiful, Beren.
