forgive me, I'm a poet

forgive me, I'm a poet

A Poem by Beren
"

I swear he is giving me mixed signals!

"
Damn it, I'm sorry
I'm knocking on your door again
I have no pride left
Would you give it to me on a plate with a little love?

I know we talked about this
Distances and impossible things
Blah blah blah
Just a few things that I'm blind
And tomorrow I'll forget everything we talked about
again

Because I count the photos just to see you
I skip songs just to hear your voice
If I think of you in the shower, May God save the world
I know, I ruined a few lands and rivers
But I see another life in your planet

You say,
we are 'just' friends
And I'll swear
this is the first time I hear this...

Sorry. You are a poem.
Forgive me, I'm a poet!

impulsive, raw, and unapologetically human. The rhythm stumbles with intention, echoing that familiar ache when affection isn’t neatly returned. Your lines like “You are a poem. Forgive me, I'm a poet!” capture what happens when love spills outside the lines. And yes, we’ve all skipped songs, reread messages, and crossed emotional borders for someone who gave us mixed signals. Relatable and refreshingly bold.

different days we see different things in the same picture.... different emotions that we don't want to feel.
Unfinished business that poets angst over.

It must be nice to be considered a poem. I have had relationships where I was considered history, and that quickly.

The perfect blend of vulnerability and defiance. It's not polished and that’s exactly what makes it perfect. Keep writing like this.

Wow, this is such a sweet and strong poem! It feels like someone pouring their heart out without holding back. The way you mix feelings of love, regret, and hope is really touching. Some parts are funny and relatable, like "blah blah blah" or thinking in the shower, but then it suddenly turns deep again like a rollercoaster of emotions. The last lines are my favorite, “Sorry. You are a poem. Forgive me, I'm a poet!” That’s such a beautiful way to express love. It feels honest, playful, and full of heart. I really enjoyed reading this. I truly did.
Great job!

You're adorable.

As you continue to write poetry you will find that you will write with less words. It's not a bad thing. Word economy is how we distill true emotion from pandering and etc. etc..

Hiiii Bereennn!!!!

Such raw emotions here in this poem. At first I was thinking this was a long distance relationship. Which I totally feel a long distance relationship can be possible!!

But then it became about the poem. Almost like a friend of mine said "victimizing the paper."

My conclusion isss you are indeed a poet and as a reader I enjoyed every minute of this.

Thanks for sharing

Well, at least you are apologizing TO your work instead of BECAUSE of it. That's got to be a plus. Poets, misfits, weirdos, artists, gypsies...we all deserve a little more forgiveness. ;)

we are so close to our poems...they are like lovers...and it hurts when our writing distances itself from us and claims only to be friends...
Our pens might argue that point.
I like how this poem can be taken somewhat literally, but it also can be thought of allegorically.

nice work.
