nothing left to say

nothing left to say

A Poem by Beren
"

To stop writing, telling and speaking is a silent and painful death.

"
What if one day I can't come to you with the wounds on my hands?
What if my most beautiful notebook doesn't have your signature?
Oh God, imprison the ghost of my soul in a book.
And let my ashes mix with the dust of the library.
If I'm to become soil, let poems be written from my trees.
Let me be dinner for the worms in love.
But don't leave my soul silent.

If one day I can't write...

A poem that expresses such yearning for self-expression. The soul wants to speak, be heard, appreciated even after flesh has turned to dust. I could relate this deeply to writers who have such an innate longing to last beyond their life, hoping that they leave something worthwhile to remember them by. Yes, the soul wants to be heard, always!

"Let me be dinner for the worms in love.
But don't leave my soul silent."

Loved how you wrote this!

An interesting muse on having nothing left to say......
I liked the way you chose the words and how it feels like a mini-movie in a way...

This was my favourite line:

If I'm to become soil, let poems be written from my trees.

Don't leave my soul silent......that would indeed be agony for any writer....!

Thanks for sharing

Aww! Thank you so much for your time! What a nice comment. Hope you're doing well! Take care
Dear Beren,
It is absolutely a must to be able to express oneself in many ways... and if that is stifled, one feels like they might as well have turned to dust, because dust is silence...and is the end....writers must express, all of need to express not only in writing but in speaking, thinking, etc...a silent soul needs compassion... avery complex, beautiful write Beren.
Warmly, B

Divya amuses me. She despises me so much but, that's the same review I would've left.

Hey Divya!! What's it like being the Indian version of me? It's pretty weird being the American version of you.

I mean its been life sooo.... eheh >:3
here i stand on my soapbox again/still
i believe the rolling stones said it best

dead flowers
Well, when you're sitting there in your silk upholstered chair
Talking to some rich folk that you know
Well, I hope you won't see me in my ragged company
Well, you know I could never be alone
Take me down little Susie, take me down
I know you think you're the Queen of the Underground
And you can send me dead flowers every morning
Send me dead flowers by the mail
Send me dead flowers to my wedding
And I won't forget to put roses on your grave
Well, when you're sitting back in your rose pink Cadillac
Making bets on your Kentucky Derby days
I'll be in my basement room with a needle and a spoon
And another girl to take my pain away
Take me down little Susie, take me down
I know you think you're the Queen of the Underground
And you can send me dead flowers every morning
Send me dead flowers by the mail
Send me dead flowers to my wedding
And I won't forget to put roses on your grave, ayy
Take me down little Susie, take me down
I know you think you're the Queen of the Underground
And you can send me dead flowers every morning
Send me dead flowers by the US mail
Send me dead flowers to my wedding
And I won't forget to put roses on your grave
No, I won't forget to put roses on your grave

That's the true spirit of a good writer!

It's good that you are connected to it very deep.
And I wish you all the very best for your future writings.
