almost shores

almost shores

A Poem by Beren

drowning near of the ‘almost shores’
narcissistic waves are sure about
that they gave me everything
to survive

these nets are not like how it used to be
fisherman looks like a prison mirror
paper never can bear to the water anyway

so don’t try to talk
no one can hear in this ocean
no one’s gonna remember
if you sink naked

give your best ‘till your arms are tired
fool yourself to keep your mind sharper
nothing is gonna matter in a few seconds

almost means it never happened
you had a dream where your mind was your killer
still trying just in case things get better

oh how noble

like a little m**********r watching my peephole
privacy is a word just to burn
god’s angels never secured him anyway

There is a sense of hopelessness reflected in this poem, Beren. I think we all get "tired" trying to do our best in the face of people waring against us and we just want to be left alone, keep our heads above the water, maybe even go about our lives unmolested. And yet it is only in holding on to hope, to keep on trying, that we can have a life. And it is only in trying that there is any chance things can get better.

Thank you, Beren, for ahring your poem.
