Chapter 10 The InvitationA Chapter by WritersSoul
I watched Jade closely as she scaled the muddy black slope. The night made it hard to see anything, only moonlight giving some aid. Jade kept falling with no shoes on, her feet and toes covered in mud.
She held onto something old, I heard it snap and a squeek leaving her mouth. She fell back, all I could do was lean back and catch her. Her in my arms, the faint moonlight casting a light on her face. Covered in make-up that had ran, scratches all over her face, bare arms and legs. She looked at me with wide earnest eyes. I looked deep into them, feeling my whole body go warm. Then I remembered my near kiss with Jade. The feeling of me being totally lost in thought, lost in Jade's presence. I couldn't control it, the feeling that nearly burst from me. I had to control myself. I didn't know what happened, but I am glad I didn't let anything bad happen. All I want now, is to get Jade back safe, that is my one and ONLY priority in this mess. I watched as Jade's face grew into relief as the heels were still by that rock, she picked them up with ease as I walked out of the wood into more light. The air cool and sweet and the high beat of the music running through me. I wanted to back to the dance, but I couldn't really go now, with the black suit matted with mud and ferns. I itched for a shower. Looking at Jade's face which held longing at the glow of the dance from the doors, she wanted to go back to. I seen her look down at her also dusted brown dress, she did a heavy sigh. I started to walk round the side of the building and heard her shout. "Wait!" She walked to me, I turned, annoyed I was stopped. "What?" I faced her huge brown eyes that looked wide and soulful in the dim light. "I don't know what to do now..." She stared at the dirt. I laughed. I laughed so hard I started to tear from the eyes, I couldn't believe Jade could make me laugh this hard in a matter of seconds. She looked at me, stunned. I just found them few words halarious. I wiped my eyes and watched her. "What?" She could say it like a squeek. "I just found that funny." I didn't smile after laughing, but laughing was a bit much for me. "That was suprising," She looked around, not yet settling her eyes on me. She then lightened at the sight of something behind me. I turned to see the Cafe. I sighed and looked at my feet, smelling the strong scent of coffee, lingering around my nose. Then I thought, why not? "Cafe?" I looked back at her and she beamed smiling, I had never seen her not smiling. I walked along the grounds with her beside me, I had not thought I'd be so comfortable for a while, especially around some girl. © 2011 WritersSoul |
