The Invitation

The Invitation

A Poem by Lindsay
"

Take it as you will.

"

I've seen the rocks

I've seen the bottoms of all the rocks

And I found them on my own

They cut open the soles of my shoes

And they scraped the bottom of my feet

It might be that nothing will change

But I feel as though I'm ready for this

Ready to transcend this life-sucking parasite
That I happen to call "home"

Let the buzzing in my ears know it's time

I know this walk that I'm walking must be my own

And I simply stand, biting my furious lips.

Something stunning floats from your mouth.

This form that I've taken is not unlike yours.

My thoughts enjoy company

And you are static electricity
