Content with Me

I made the greatest discovery ever made

I’ve discovered happiness

It doesn’t come from anyone else

It comes from within

Finally I’m happy with myself

I’m young, and there’s so much I need to work on

But I’m making progress

Each day I feel stronger

Each day I feel better about myself

I have a confidence that I never truly felt before

It doesn’t bother me that so many have tried to hurt me

Now I’m content with me

I’ve dropped all that baggage

I’ve gotten my feelings back

Whether I remain with him or go it alone, I’m content with me

And that’s all that really matters

I wish loving one's self was easier and lasted longer than a few minutes. Once I start to actually feel pretty, I see all these skinny celebrities and I'm so harshly reminded that that's how I'm "supposed" to look. Happiness, in my opinion, is hard to find; at least it is for me. This is a great poem. Well done.
