Trust

Trust is something that can be given once, but once it’s broken must be earned

You ask me to trust you

Yet you’ve betrayed the trust I gave freely

So now you have to show me why I should trust you

Being human, we all make mistakes

And as I’ve matured I’ve realized that everyone deserves a second chance

As such, I’m giving you this chance

But I don’t trust you

I’m not sure I love you

Time will tell

But if I stay with you, you will have to earn my trust back

It’s truly a daunting task

If you succeed, you were worth the investment

If not, you’re just another in a long list of scars on whatever remains of my heart
