Thanks for the Misery

as all your lies become apparent

all the hell i've been through comes to mind

i took a chance on us

i fought for you

I'd have walked through fire for you

I've put up with constant lies

the mindless bickering

i've been through so much

that i normally would not allow

i defended you against everyone else

and in the end we come back to this

i have been accused of every wrongdoing

I have been berated over the pettiest things

when you fell, i was there to pick you up

when i fell, you did not return the favor

you could not do what i did for you

in this, i picked myself back up

i scratched and clawed my way back up

i sacrificed all i held because of you

it was not that these things could not be kept

you chose not to help me when i needed you

the memories flow over me

so many are bad

the good certainly does not outweigh the bad

but in the end i say thank you

thank you for all you put me through

all the pain and the suffering

the misery

now you must see how well you do

without me around

I had a friend who went through this same type of thing, luckily she realized and let the a*****e go and now she is full of happiness, joy.


It always feels better when you give up on something that was never meant to be than wasting your time trying to make it right, when it was always wrong.

This is usually how it goes. We are the ones that give, the ones that care, the ones who are always there when needed and yet our partners cannot do the same. The pain, suffering, misery can change us, sometimes for the worse. Make us vengeful, hateful. But I have learned that our roads are paved with fools, broken pieces of lost love that when connected, put together, lead us where we truly belong. The emotions were raw and honest in this piece.
