The Path We Choose

The path we choose is often wrong

in the eyes of our loved ones lies the truth we don't see

the heart and soul wants what it wants

So we plunge head first into the depths of desire

we do things we later wish to take back

But we must do these things

It is in our nature as mortals

we cause ourselves such pain

Pain we must learn from

In order to live, we must endure pain

Our loved ones watch sadly as we drown in the depths of our own desire

as we look for solace but find none there

They cannot be our lifeline in this pain we created

They merely hope we find out way to the shore again

and ever after avoid the dark, impassable depths that threaten our very souls

powerful work this is a nice poem, i really like this poem. this poem is a great verbal depiction of real life and pain.
