Eternity

Eternity

A Poem by blackbelief

My Grandfather lived a very principled life.
He built a vast empire of virtues without realizing its creation
As he passed on to the superior realm after long years,
many who lived on,
witnessed how his perception of the world had filled so many holes,
concluding that the void he had filled,
was too deep, even for all of them combined.

Although the empire crumbles bit by bit as time goes by,
As the circle traces back to the end,
The incorruptible dream he lived still stands tall.
Some things are meant to be eternal.

Something here interests me. I will admit to a bit of confusion . . . maybe it's your punctuation?
Yet I see that your grandfather's life in the world meant a lot to you. I think I hear you say in the final stanza that things--- including virtue and integrity fade in the eyes of the living, while eternity stores them forever. At least that's what I read here. Thanks for the read.

I never seem to the hang of proper punctuation I suppose :). What you read is right.
