Believer

Believer

A Poem by blackbelief

I am reminded
every now and then,
that the world we see around us,
is a series of “thou shalt's”
and “thou shall not’s”.

Who whispered the first “thou shalt”?
Some questions
lose their answers to time.

Over the years, though,
the ‘who’ turns into a ‘why’
and the ‘why’ into a ‘why not?’.

Maybe you do not believe.
But sometimes a warm hand in the cold winter
and the general concept of love,
penetrate your thick hide
and you cannot deny their existence.

Interesting poem . . . one that deserves thinking upon. Like that last stanza.

A nice philosophical piece here. It begins rather negatively, but the last two verses speak of real possibilities if we can adjust our viewpoints. It's certainly worth trying. Well done.

PS: consider dropping the commas in the last verse.
