Concrete Angel

A poem I wrote for the contest "Based off a song"

A stone angel sits in the yard

Surrounded by white marble boulders

Words inscribed 

about people who've died

while their lives are 

fading 

ghosts

 around them

Below the stone angel lays a small girl

A soul that God lovingly saved

The bruises and heartbreak have been cleaned from her soul

A young girl whose innocence was forcefully ripped from her

A young girl who was falling harder each day

A young girl who was finally rescued from the pain
