SAMAR

it is one of the provinces in visayas, one of the three biggest islands in the philippines

Samar,

The beauty of the beaches,

The friendly people,

The blooming flowers.

 

Nature has been

Generous with Samar.

 

A getaway,

A refuge for the broken,

A sanctuary for those worn out,

 

I visited the place,

A decade or so,

Enjoyed the frivolities of life,

The simple pleasures.

 

But then,

Three years ago,

It had survived the worst

Typhoon in the whole history.

 

Yolanda was the name,

She brought devastation

And sadness to the place.

 

A lot of casualties,

A little chance to survive

The perils of being poor and needy.

 

God had been so good,

Giving Samar the chance to rise again

Amidst the pains and hurdles.

 

I thought it was the same Samar again.

 

A few days ago,

An army person killed a policeman

With no reason at all.

 

I don’t want to think ahead,

I don’t even want to philosophize,

But it’s breaking my heart.

 

Will Samar turn to be a no man’s land?

Sana hindi, maganda pa naman ang samar,sad talaga iyong nangyari po sa samar, pero walang pagsubok na hindi kakayanin kung may pagtitiwala tayo kay God, at sana mabigyan din ng hustisya ang pagkamatay ng isang pulis.

Samar recovering from the devastation of Yolanda. You believed that things were returning to normal in this beautiful paradise and now another setback. A policeman has died and there is no explanation for why this should have happened. Worse still at the hands of someone in the army. It is difficult sometimes to comprehend why these things happen and it can leave us with a heavy heart. I am sorry sette for your sadness. The image you have posted is breathtaking.
