A friend asked me yesterday,

“Lisette, are you ready to love again?”

What a question to ask

In the middle of a battle

I am not sure of winning,

 

After a few minutes,

I answered,

“I am not sure”

Although I know my heart

Is shouting, Yes!!!

 

But my mind is wavering,

Doubting and resisting,

Only one step at a time.

 

Just being true to myself,

I missed the affection

Given by a special person,

I missed saying I love you

To that special person.

 

One day,

I know I will love again,

Wholly and eternally this time.

that pic is fantastic says i ..its uplifting hope set against the uncertainty of your speaker ... it is such a battle when the mind says beware but the heart says JUMP! so much is at stake .. we throw reason away and risk everything ... or we hesitate and perhaps end up alone :( fortunately for the human race .. we can learn and grow from all our experiences ..recover from hurts getting a little wiser and usually a lot stronger ... nice read sette! thanks for sharing this rather intimate scene between friends :)

I liked this. I agree with Sarah. The ending hammers the perspective that you've sort of stranded yourself to exist on the tip of a deep iceberg. Anxious to peer at what lies in waiting and what lies beneath.
