Too Shy

Title speaks for itself

What can I possibly do?

I’m awkward

I’m weird

I make silly faces

Weird noises

I get all choked up

Everything is easier…up until you’re starring at me 

If life were made easy we’d be friends by now…

I hate that I can’t say anything 

You make me crazy

Wild, insane and zany 

I can’t live with this heavy feeling

You’re right there I need to go for it.

Holy crap you’re so cute…

but I’m afraid. 

If I could I’d say hi,

but sadly I’m way too shy.

This reads like a teenage confession. And it could be from either a boy or a girl viewpoint. Guys are often more terrified of girls than the other way around. I remember asking out this beautiful girl. She was so sweet and kind to everyone. I thought, well, she's definitely not mean so at least she'll let me down easy. She accepted! I told her later, I thought you'd turn me down which is why I've never asked before. I was afraid. She said, I don't know, I've never thought of myself as intimidating but maybe that's why I don't get asked out very often. I was blown away. Sometimes the thing we fear isn't as scary as it seems in our heads and hearts. I enjoyed the read. Bless, F.
