Almost Something

Almost Something

A Poem by Moth Phoenix
"

attraction and connection don't care about boundaries or commitments. this was almost something, but it never became anything.

"

The silence of the day, and my thoughts are loud with feelings.

Moments in time, many, and glances not fleeting.

This was real and rare, not something you get on a dare.

You’re married and so am I, but feelings just don’t care.

Blue eyes that sparkle, and a face that lights up like the sun, this happened accidentally, it was just supposed to be fun.

Our souls knew before the mind and body,

The connection wasn’t timely.

In those quiet moments your face is all I see,

So, thank you for letting me be emotionally free.

I was used and abused for so many years

and your warmth was a kiss on all my tears.

That’s when you looked at me with eyes so warm and soft.

I wish this didn’t have to stop.

No, I can’t let this go,

Because I still have feelings for you Joe.
