Agonizing SilenceA Poem by MeganMy attempt at a sonnet...pattern is off somewhat I know..about when I used to self-mutilate.She slits her wrists day by day, night by night; Cuts endlessly, persistently while Blood drips down her pure skin into hindsight. Passersby are clueless of her guile. All purity lost to that razor blade: She wallows silently all night, thinking About pain she's caused, the scars she has made, No one sees everyday she's sinking. Darkness shrouds her shriveled, blissful, white heart As icy chill runs her back causing pain. Anguish and hurt of them tears her apart. Her fault, her bad, their beaut'ous hearts she's slain. More and more 'til silence enters the air, The deed now done, the pain no longer there. © 2010 Megan |
