troglodytic

troglodytic

A Poem by Brenden Taylor
"

travelling alone...

"

moonlight on the road

- dancing on the median -

on the way back home

---/-/---

the navy blue on high

- pallid moon's too far away -

too far for comfort

---/-/---

the breath of friendship

- oxidizing in my blood -

lacking from my lungs

---/-/---

thinking of faces

- strangers and acquaintances -

why am i alone?

What the poop?? what's up with people not reviewing! It makes me angry lol. Now on to what you really want, a review! You are a great writer. I love the imagery and the last stanza is awesome. it brings everything to a close so perfectly, but with a perfect amount of spice to it. It makes you think about what the rest of your poem is saying. I also like the simplicity of it, you express yourself so well but without going overboard with complicated phrases and big words. This is wonderful :) thanks for posting!

I really like this. I like the usage of dashes between stanzas, sort of like the lane markings on the road the moonlit road you're traveling in this poem - kind of like you find the term "selah" is the Psalms. The whole thing feels isolated and stark, - lonely. I confess - I had to look up the term "troglodytic"... it's a fitting title. Very good.
