Prisoner?

Am I a prisoner? I don't know. I don't care. Do I?

Every day these days, a
number of people visit me.
I must've been a very nice person
to have so many go here
just to see me and say
'Even if they save you,
you will still be
hooked
anyway'. As far as I am
concerned
this bodes more time here
to watch my mind
play
tricks on me
making the ceiling spin
and twisting the ever-present smile
on the figurine's face
to a grimace...
But who am I to make assumptions?
All I can hold on to in this
plain little space
like a hospital room, only
clad in black instead of white
is that familiar sweet
scent (one of a kind)
that invites me
every night
to wonderful places
and always makes me
feel
so
tired.
