Memories Kept Inside of a Picture

I hold your picture in the air

In my heart you will always be cared

It captures the memories as I stare

The death of you was so unaware

The life of you was taken so scarce

And your heart is always mine to share

 

 I want to be on my way

But with-out you in my life

I wouldn’t have anywhere to go

I want to be with you

But I don’t think I’m ready to see the light

You were the one that helped me make it through

Now you’re just a memory in a picture

Held safe and secure in my heart

I will hold you close like a scar

 

I put the candle on the night stand

In your memory is all I can do

You are the sweetest thing in my life

To you I never wanted to say good-bye

No matter what you did you were so beautiful

But I know you will always be close to me on the inside

I just hope that I can carry on as a man

 

It was the brightest of days when you were taken

I have no reason why I was saved

All it did was take my life away

And I cry for you every night and day

I never wanted it to go this way

I try to pray but all I get is shamed

 

I want us back like it was before

Every day I want you more and more

My life wears a heart that is scorn

The sky is falling on me

And I have never felt anymore torn

Your memories will be kept inside of this picture

In my heart so safe and secure

Until the day that you will be reborn
