Call Me Superman

Call Me Superman

A Poem by Brandon Mathis

I will throw this kryptonite in your eyes

I will take the name superman

You were the Amazon of the galaxy

Now you’re stuck in my fantasy of no realty

And you are now only human

Stuck in the wilderness, soul of a man

I have stripped you of your suit

I have taken everything away from you

Does it make you feel less of a man?

Now that you don’t know what to do

I have taken the name superman

And made you nothing but human

You have been holding up this world for too long

It’s about time that someone took over

In this suit I now belong

The days of your end have come closer

As a man you have grown colder

You try to take your suit back but you’re not as strong

So live in misery as you grow older

With this suit I have so many powers

But in this world it seems so sour

Growing so strong I am holding up towers

I am saving this world

That yesterday only wanted me to hurt

I can hear them chant

I guess you can call me superman
