Break the Silence

Break the Silence

A Poem by Brandon Mathis

Sometimes it seems better this way

Finding a way to escape

Hiding my face with shame

No excuse I will hold the blame

So don’t wake me

Cause I live with so much hate

If all I do is wrong,

Then show me what is right.

I need to be strong

When all the colors turn to night

And the light has gone

Please tell me what I did wrong.

I want to live again

I need to feel what’s within

I don’t want my anger to take over me

I have seen what happens in the end

I hope that I can break the silence

I won’t leave you alone

You are the one that threw the first stone

My heart’s broke and you won’t ever know

As I fall I shatter my bones

Steal a life for its soul

I can’t die so I won’t leave you alone
